Meet Hannah

Hannah holds a Bachelor of Music Honours from Western University as well as Royal Conservatory of Music (RCM) Elementary Piano Pedagogy and Level 10 Piano Certificates. She studied with Allison Wiebe at Western University, Dr. Michael Berkovsky of the Glenn Gould School in Toronto and Karen Rowell of the RCM College of Examiners. Hannah enjoys performing both as a solo and collaborative pianist with a wide range of repertoire in a variety of contexts, including concerts, recitals, music festivals, and competitions. She has performed at Western University, Princeton University, London International Airport, Aeolian Hall, Sarnia Library Theatre, Stratford Festival, and Steinway Piano Gallery Markham.In 2018 Hannah was accepted into the Western 360 Chamber Music Festival at Western University. During this festival Hannah had the opportunity to study collaborative performing, be coached by Sharon Wei and Philip Chiu, and perform in chamber music recitals. In 2016 she was accepted into The Golandsky Institute Symposium at Princeton University in New Jersey and studied the Taubman Approach for piano technique. Hannah has competed in the Kiwanis and Rotary Festivals of Music, the 2018 OMFA Provincial Competition, and the 2016 ORMTA Young Artist London Branch Competition.Hannah has arranged, performed, and spoken at a number of benefit concerts for charitable organizations including Voice of the Martyrs Canada, The Canadian Centre for Bio-Ethical Reform, and Ingersoll Right to Life. Additionally, she has given many concerts at retirement homes, restaurants, and airports throughout southwestern Ontario. For over ten years, she has and continues to serve as a worship pianist in her church, playing for the weekly services as well as special events.As a Royal Conservatory of Music Certified Elementary and Intermediate Teacher, Hannah is passionate about teaching piano and theory to students of all ages through her music studio. Her students frequently perform in competitions and music festivals in addition to excelling in RCM piano and theory exams. Hannah was a two-time winner of the RCM’s Certified Teacher Lightning Talk Competition, having the opportunity to give two piano pedagogy presentations from across North America at the 2017 and 2018 RCM Summer Summits in Toronto.

Teaching

Hannah teaches piano and theory to students of all ages, helping them realize their full musical potential and develop comprehensive literacy and skills for lifelong musical enjoyment. In her studio, all aspects of music learning are taught in an integrated manner so that students have a broad understanding of music. The learning environment is vibrant and integrated, with games, musical instruments, whole body movement and collaborative playing all being important elements of each lesson.She is passionate about teaching and her teaching style reflects that. Her goal is to develop the musical abilities of each student, with the aim of reaching all learning styles. The wholistic learning environment that her studio offers, the studio materials, her love for teaching and, regular performance opportunities help students achieve their musical goals.Hannah uses a structured music program that integrates repertoire learning, performance, backing tracks, technique, singing, musicianship, theory instruction, exams, constructive feedback, and collaborative work. Lessons are very interactive as Hannah seeks to reach student’s learning styles and creatively engage the whole person. Recitals are held regularly throughout the year, giving students valuable opportunities to share their music with others.

Performing

Hannah has years of experience providing live piano and piano ensemble music at weddings, showers, receptions, galas, cocktail hours, fundraisers, dinners, and more. She is also a classical pianist and collaborative artist and performs regularly in concert.With an expansive repertoire spanning many genres, Hannah frequently accompanies for auditions, exams, music videos, festivals, and competitions. She is passionate about collaborative playing and enjoys working with musicians of all ages and levels.
